Powerful performance, in the hospital and at home

Pearl brings hospital-grade expressing from the ward to the living room. It combines powerful performance inside with a protective, easy-clean shell outside, and it's built to support pump-dependent mothers of preterm and term babies.

Pearl's modern design pairs the durability a multi-user environment demands with the lifestyle features mums actually want. It serves the needs of hospitals and is the ideal multi-user pump for milk banks and rental depots, while supporting continuity of care all the way home.

The Ameda Pearl was recognised as Breast Pump Product of 2024 by the Baby Innovation Awards.

The HygieniKit closed system

Pearl works with Ameda's Universal HygieniKit Milk Collection System (sold separately), a closed-system design in which a patented silicone diaphragm separates the milk pathway from the pump tubing, so the tubing stays dry. There is no need to clean or replace it, and no trapped moisture where mould can grow. In a multi-user setting that means fewer parts to process between patients.

In laboratory testing adapted from ASTM 1671-97b, no penetration of the diaphragm was detected in either direction when challenged with Phi-X174 bacteriophage and a mixed bacterial suspension.

The Ameda HygieniKit has a patented silicone diaphragm that creates a barrier protecting the pump and tubing from penetration by bacteria and viruses. This barrier does not remove bacteria or viruses from breast milk already collected in the collection bottle system, and the HygieniKit does not make it safe for infected mothers to feed their infants with milk collected using this device. Use of this product neither guarantees nor warrants against the transmission of Hepatitis B and C or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Testing performed in situ using actual HygieniKits and an Ameda Piston Breast Pump; procedure adapted from ASTM 1671-97b.
