Designed for your most critical patients

The Ameda Platinum is our top-of-the-line multi-user pump, built for the hospital and equally at home in a rental or home setting. It uses a durable internal rotating piston to produce a suction waveform designed to support the establishment and maintenance of milk production for both preterm and full-term infants.

In a 2011 study of 26 mothers of preterm infants (26–32 weeks gestation) expressing exclusively with the Platinum, mean production at day 14 was 817 mL per 24 hours, with 35% of participants exceeding 1,000 mL per 24 hours.

Ameda has been the leading innovator in breast pumps since 1942, and continues to set the benchmark for vacuum and cycling standards. The Platinum is what that heritage looks like in a NICU.

The HygieniKit closed system

The Platinum works with the Ameda HygieniKit Milk Collection System, a closed-system design in which a patented silicone diaphragm separates the milk pathway from the pump tubing, so the tubing stays dry. There is no need to clean or replace it, and no trapped moisture where mould can grow. For a multi-user environment, that means fewer parts to process between patients and less nursing time spent on kit handling.

In laboratory testing adapted from ASTM 1671-97b, no penetration of the diaphragm was detected in either direction when challenged with Phi-X174 bacteriophage and a mixed bacterial suspension.

Compatible with

HygieniKit Milk Collection System, CustomFit Breast Flanges and Inserts, silicone diaphragms, silicone tubing, tubing adapters, adapter caps, silicone valves, breast milk storage bottles, and locking rings and discs. The seven-size CustomFit Flange System adapts to every Ameda pump and kit.

Cleaning and reprocessing

See the cleaning and reprocessing guidance on the For Hospitals page, and always follow the Instructions for Use supplied with the product and your facility's own protocol.
